February 8 : Nepal Oil Corporation has written to Indian Oil Corporation, requesting it to supply fuel through Raxaul.

NOC General Manager, Gopal Bahadur Khadka, said that a letter had been dispatched on Sunday. He said supply from Birganj would depend on whether or not the IOC depot in Raxaul has sufficient stock.  Following the opening of the Birganj-Raxaul border, goods carriers have started crossing the custom point. But fuel is yet to arrive. More than 60 percent of supplies consumed in the country comes through this transit port.

Only Jogbani transit point has been functional in ferrying fuel into the country since the blockade began.
