Hotel Ambassador to start operation from June

September 17:  Ace Hotels and Resorts is planning to open its Hotel Ambassador from June this year.

The company decided to re-build the Lazimpat-based hotel after it had to make way for road expansion during Baburam Bhattarai’s tenure as Prime Minister.

The group says it is going to invest Rs 70 million in the hotel. “We have already spent over Rs 350 million on the building,” said chairman of the group Yogendra Shakya. “We had to postpone the opening of the hotel due to the April 25 earthquake and the ongoing protests,” said Shakya. According to him, the hotel is being upgraded from three-star to four-star. The hotel now has rooms of that are sound-proof as it is located close to a busy road. 

The eight-storey hotel has two floors for shops. But the hotel will not have a swimming pool. The group has been operating Ambassador Chhauni Hotel Apartment ever since construction began in Lazimpat, to accommodate its clients.
