August 14: The government has appointed Govinda Raj Pokharel as CEO of the reconstruction authority.

Pokharel is also the Vice-chairman of National Planning Commission. The authority, which is to be headed by the Prime Minister, will have home minister Bamdev Gautam, urban development minister Narayan Khadka and tourism minister Kripasur Sherpa as members.

The authority, which will oversee post-earthquake reconstruction work, will have tenure of five years.
