G4S Nepal has opened its new branch office in Dhangadhi, Kailali, with this G4S has now seven branches. It already has branches in Biratnagar, Hetauda, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Pokhara and Kathmandu and two sub-branches in Chitwan and Birgunj. 
 
Explaining the reason for opening the branch, Mahesh Shrestha, Managing Director of G4S Nepal says, “This is further to insure our total management and operational support and much care to our clients located from the Far East to the Far West.” 
 
He added, “We are firmly committed to our quality services to our clients across Nepal”. 
 
G4S, a security services provider with operations in more than 100 countries on six continents. G4S had begun its services more than 100 years ago in Denmark in 1901. In Nepal it was established in 1996 as security and safety solutions provider. Major clients of G4S include leading business organizations, diplomatic missions and Government as well as Civil Society Organizations in Nepal. 
 
“Following full legal compliances making G4S an organisation of choices in the Corporate World in Nepal, we are firmly committed to labour law in Nepal”, said MD Shrestha. “We feel we are the organization of choice”. 
He claimed that in an annual survey of the organization, it was found that staffs of G4S are motivated and satisfied. 
 
At present, G4S has staff strength of 4,500 employee in Nepal only. 
 
 
Awards 
G4S wore many hats. It has won two prestigious G4S regional awards, Spirit Award-2009 and Best Cash Flow Award-2011 among 34 countries within AME (Asia and Middle East Region). Sharing group’s achievement MD Shrestha said, “G4S as a group is convinced with G4S Nepal performances and much convinced for future investments in Nepal”.
 
 
 
Area of Services
G4S provides Security and Safety Solutions with four major business divisions MSS (Manned Security Services) or Guarding Services, Risk Consulting and Management, Close Protections, Secured Facility Services (doing secured housekeeping and all support services) by security vetted and security-trained technical persons; Electronic Systems’ Services (All CCTV, access control and fire alarming) and Central Monitoring Services. 
 
In addition to this, it also provides Cash Solutions (transfer of valuables from one point to another point), fund transfer, first line ATM management and maintenance as wells as home banking and vaulting facilities to banks and individuals who are in need of this service. 
 
MD Shrestha claimed that G4S is capable of providing services all over Nepal in any time.
 
Human Resources 
HR management in G4S is manned by highly professional persons. Branch HR has to report to Corporate HR Director. Corporate HR is technically supervised by Regional HR Director, South Asia. Corporate HR reports to MD, Nepal. And MD Nepal reports to Regional Managing Director, South Asia based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. G4S has HR Manual which is based on Group HR manual. 
 
Each business division has its own operational, support and sales and marketing wing. Every branch offices are headed by Branch Manager reporting to Business Head. Branch office is responsible for overall branch management for staff planning, recruitments, training, supervision as well as business development.
 
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
According to MD Shrestha G4S believes on giving back to the society. G4S has involvement in the area of community health, education, welfare of elderly people etc. In 2011, G4S community investment was over GBP 2.1 million and did facilitate over 78,500 hours of employee volunteering with charitable concerns and local community good causes all over the world.
