Banks Going Branchless

Mega Bank Nepal Ltd has started branchless banking outlets in Sitapur of Banke, Chaumala of Kailali, Dayanagar and Farsatikar of Rupandehi and Sharada Nagar of Chitwan. The outlets are started in line with the bank’s strategy of having a total of 45 branchless outlets across Nepal within this fiscal year. According to the  bank, seven such outlets were installed in December 2012 at Naumule of Dailekh, Chaumala of Kailali, Sitapur of Banke, Rampur of Dang, Dayanagar and Pharsatikar of Rupandehi and Saradanagar of Chitwan.  
 


 

Citizens Bank International has started its branchless banking services in Dudhrash of Dang, Beltar of Udayapur, Beldandi of Kanchanpur, Kohalbi and Dumarwana of Bara and Mahankal and Chalnakhel of Kirtipur, Mainapokhari and Bholagaudi of Bardia, and in Meghauli of Chitwan. Prior to this, the bank had started similar services at 11  different remote places in the country. The bank has informed that it intends to provide branchless banking services from all the 14 zones of Nepal.
 


 

Sanima Bank Ltd has opened its 23rd and  24th branches at New Baneshwor and Teku, respectively. The bank  informed that this is a milestone to strengthen its initiative to provide banking access to everyone. With this expansion, Sanima now has 24 full-fledged outlets throughout the nation and also aims to expand its reach in the future.
