Weather to Remain Cloudy for Three more Days, Rainfall Expected in Western Nepal

March 27: The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicted light rain along with lightning for the next three days in the hill regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

According to the division, there is a possibility of rainfall in the hill areas of the far-western and mid-western regions from today. Meteorologist Saroj Pudasaini said there is a possibility of rain in the hill regions of different provinces and snowfall in the high hills and mountainous areas.

"The influence of westerly wind and local wind in Nepal has resulted in partly cloudy weather in the hill areas of the country including Koshi province," he said, adding, "Although there had been rainfall in the eastern parts of the country recently, the western region was yet to experience rainfall in the past few days. Now, the rainfall is shifting towards the western parts of Nepal."

According to the division, light rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places of the hill regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of the Madhes province and the rest of the hill regions in next 24 hours. -- RSS
