Rainfall to Continue for Three More Days

March 23: There is a possibility of rainfall for three more days in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The westerly low pressure system as well as the low pressure system located in Assam of India and its surrounding areas are having influence in Nepal at present.  

Meteorologist Govinda Jha said the weather across the country is partly to generally cloudy and light rainfall with lightning is taking place at few places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces as well as one or two places of Madhesh Province.

"There is a possibility of light rainfall with thunderstorms at a few places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces. Light rainfall is predicted at one or two places of Bagmati province," he mentioned.

Similarly, light snowfall has been forecast at one or two places of high-hill areas and mountain regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, affecting the normal life, tourism sector, transport and air services in these areas. 

One killed, seven injured due to lightning strike

Meanwhile, a person died and seven others were injured when lightning struck them in Bajhang district of Sudurpaschim province. The incident took place at Naura, Jaya Prithvi Municipality-6 of Bajhang district on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Gajendra Bahadur Singh of Naura. Among those injured in the incident, Laxmi Singh is undergoing treatment at the District Hospital while the remaining six have received minor injuries, police said. -- RSS
