Prohibitory Order in Valley Extended by 10 Days

June 2: The prohibitory order in effect in Kathmandu valley has been extended by another 10 days, according to the state-owned national news agency RSS.

A joint meeting of the Chief District Officers (CDO) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur took the decision to extend the order with some relaxation.
The order has been extended till June 14. The previous order was expiring on June 4.

According to RSS, the CDOs of the three districts have revoked an earlier decision to ban operation of grocery shops and departmental stores and can now remain open until 9:00 am every day. Earlier, only vegetable shops and other essential services were allowed to open.
Likewise, construction work can also resume with boarding facility for the workers and following the prescribed health protocol. Construction materials have to be transported from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am. Human mobility remains prohibited as well as traffic, except for emergency and essential services.
