The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined 0.45%, or 11.97 points, on Wednesday, June 4, closing at 2,646.95.
The index had dropped 1.32% on Tuesday, following a three-day winning streak.
Market breadth remained weak, with 181 stocks declining, 66 advancing, and the rest unchanged.
Among the top gainers, Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals Ltd (OMPL) hit the upper circuit limit, while Pure Energy Ltd (PURE) rose 9.99%.
On the losing side, Corporate Development Bank Ltd (CORBL) recorded the steepest fall, sliding 5.81%.
Investor sentiment remained subdued, with total turnover falling to Rs 5.16 billion, down from Rs 6.67 billion in the previous session. More than 13.7 million shares changed hands across 59,130 transactions.
All major sub-indices ended in negative territory. The Sensitive Index dropped 0.57%, the Float Index fell 0.52%, and the Sensitive Float Index declined 0.62%.
Arun Kabeli Power Ltd (AKPL) led in turnover, followed by Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd (RADHI) and Ngadi Group Power Ltd (NGPL).
Out of 13 sectoral indices, only Mutual Fund and Trading posted gains, rising 0.46% and 0.49%, respectively. The Finance Index recorded the sharpest decline, down 0.90%.
The market’s total capitalization fell to Rs 4.408 trillion, compared with Rs 4.428 trillion in the previous session.
