The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Cambodian Federation of Employers and Business Associations (CAMFEBA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing bilateral trade cooperation.
FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal and CAMFEBA Vice President Sok Lor signed the MoU during a programme held in Geneva, Switzerland, on June 10, reads a statement issued by FNCCI on Thursday.
According to the statement, the MoU was signed in the presence of Nepal’s Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari.
The statement further said that the agreement emphasizes the exchange of best practices in employment, labor laws, and enterprise development. It also includes commitments to conduct joint programmes on research, capacity building, and investment promotion.
The MoU outlines cooperation in areas such as business-to-business (B2B) engagements, identification of trade partners, collaboration between trade forums, and mutual support in exploring investment opportunities.
As per the agreement, both organizations will cooperate in entrepreneurship development, industrial relations, human resource management, professional security, skill development, and investment promotion.
CAMFEBA Vice President Lor expressed optimism that the MoU would open new opportunities and pave the way for stronger regional collaboration and networking.
The FNCCI stated that arrangements will be made for regular consultations and follow-up actions to ensure effective implementation of the agreement.
FNCCI President Dhakal said the MoU is expected to deepen economic ties between Nepal and Cambodia and foster an inclusive business environment.
FNCCI Vice President Jyotsana Shrestha, Executive Member Babukaji Karki, and CAMFEBA Executive Director Tep Sophoan were also present at the event.
