Ncell Foundation has joined hands with Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) as a partner for ‘Skill Fair 2025’, the largest skill development initiative of the metropolis.
The collaboration aims to train individuals with practical, market-driven skills across diverse sectors, thereby enhancing their employability and fostering sustainable livelihoods in line with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles, said Ncell in a statement.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed and exchanged amidst a programme organised by KMC on Wednesday, June 5.
On behalf of KMC, the MoU was signed by Shailendra Jha, Coordinator of the Skill Fair Management Committee of the KMC in presence of Gatishil Nepal, the implementing partner of the Skill Fair. From Ncell, the MoU was signed by Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Director Ncell Foundation and Special Projects and Dilli Shrestha, Director Legal and Regulatory Services.

Through our partnership with Kathmandu Metropolitan City for Seep Mela, we are proud to support an initiative that equips individuals—especially youth—with the practical skills needed to thrive in today’s evolving job market” said Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Director Ncell Foundation & Special Projects.
“The fair, which started on May 21, is currently running skill-based training for 2,424 individuals in 10 sectors, covering 37 professions,” read the Ncell’s statement. “These include in-demand areas such as cyber security, multimedia, programming languages (Dot Net, Java, PHP), digital marketing, AI and its applications, drone and robotics technology, fibre optics, beauty and grooming, electronics repair, and specialised skills to support individuals with disabilities.”
Special Ability Support Skill training is a newly added area this year. Under this category, training is being conducted in two professions—housekeeping and care services. The housekeeping training is designed for facilitators working with children with hearing disabilities, while the care service training is intended for facilitators of children with Down Syndrome and Autism. Under the electronics, the training sector includes laptop repair technician, AC and refrigerator repair, CCTV repair, and mobile phone repair.
In the garments sector, there is training in garment fabrication and basic fashion designing. Likewise, under the construction sector, training like electrician, plumbing, masonry, welding, and carpentry is being imparted. In the hospitality sector, training is being conducted in four professions—Barista, Waiter, Fast Food, and Bakery.
In the automobile sector, training is available in three professions—electric vehicle (EV) maintenance, light vehicle engine repair, and maintenance of both electric and fuel-powered motorcycles and scooters. Under the art and sculpture category, Thangka Painting and Ceramics (terracotta) training is being imparted. Training is also being provided in astrology and priesthood.
In the agriculture sector, training is being conducted in flower decoration. Similarly, training related to the stock market is also underway.
