The ninth edition of the NewBiz Conclave and Business Excellence Awards has begun in Kathmandu, celebrating outstanding achievements across Nepal’s business landscape.
Organised by New Business Age with Asian Paints as the title sponsor, this year's event will recognise excellence in nine categories. The prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award will also be provided to an individual with exceptional contributions to the development of trade and commerce in the country.
The event was jointly inaugurated by Chief Guest Damodar Bhandari, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies; Special Guest Prof. Dr. Shiva Raj Adhikari, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission; and Madan Lamsal, Chairman of New Business Age.
In his opening remarks, Lamsal highlighted the event’s continued dedication to celebrating and promoting leadership, innovation, and excellence in Nepal’s business ecosystem since 2013. “After a powerful panel discussion on this year’s theme, we will recognize outstanding performers from banking, insurance, IT, and healthcare, and for the first time - a leading public enterprise,” he added.
The award categories include Best Managed Company, Best Managed Commercial Bank, Best Managed Development Bank, Best Managed Finance Company, Best Bank in Digital Financial Services, Best Managed Life Insurance Company, Best Managed General Insurance Company, Best Managed IT Company, and Special Recognition for Public Enterprises.
An independent jury of experts from diverse fields has already completed a multi-stage evaluation process to select the winners, using criteria and methods developed by the panel, the organizers said.
While Rameshore Khanal, chair of the High-Level Economic Reform Recommendation Commission, will deliver the keynote address, this year’s conclave also features a panel discussion on the theme "Driving Growth Through Reform."
