Shanghai, a global metropolis known for its iconic skyline, offers a stunning fusion of futuristic ambition and timeless heritage. Towering skyscrapers rise beside historic neighbourhoods, creating a visual tapestry that reflects the city's spirit of transformation. From the soaring Oriental Pearl TV Tower to a serene cruise along the Huangpu River and the glittering night view of The Bund, every moment in Shanghai tells a story. One visit is never enough.
Equally unforgettable was the thrilling ride through the Huangpu River tunnel, connecting the city’s east and west in a swirl of light and speed.
Recently, the Nepal Cultural Friendship Delegation, led by Narad Mani Hartamchhali, Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, visited Shanghai at the official invitation of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism. The delegation included representatives from the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Nepal-China Cultural and Educational Council, World Culture Net, Nepal‑China Friendship Forum, Nepal Arniko Society, National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ Nepal), and other cultural organisations.
During their five-day visit, the group explored major artistic and cultural landmarks such as the China Art Museum, Power Station of Art, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy, Shanghai Mass Art Center, and the China Shanghai International Arts Festival—each offering a deep insight into China’s rich and evolving artistic landscape.
They also attended the 4th Shanghai Tourism Investment Promotion Conference, gaining valuable perspectives on tourism development and cross-border investment opportunities. A city walk through the Xintiandi complex, including a visit to the Memorial Site of the First CPC National Congress, and a trip to Fengjing Ancient Town, felt like stepping back in time.
Throughout the visit, the delegation witnessed Shanghai’s dynamic evolution—where tradition, creativity, and modern innovation converge. The journey strengthened cultural ties and opened new possibilities for future collaboration in the fields of art, tourism, and cultural diplomacy.
