Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli met the delegation from the Malaysia-Nepal Business Council on Saturday, July 5, to discuss investment opportunities in Nepal.
The 20-member delegation, led by Pradip Kumar Kukreja, Executive Chairman of the Paradise Group of Companies, called the prime minister at his official residence in Baluwatar. They informed him that their visit aimed to better understand Nepal’s investment climate and explore trade relations between the two countries.
PM Oli briefed the delegation on recent legal and structural reforms introduced to attract and facilitate foreign investment.
According to the state-owned RSS news agency, the delegation expressed interest in investing in plastic waste management, IT parks, and tourism. Discussions also touched on potential collaboration in tourism, agriculture, IT, workforce, and the garment industry.
The delegation is on a three-day visit to Nepal, coordinated by the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia.
PM Oli’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal and Economic Affairs Advisor Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada also attended the meeting.
The delegation had met Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel the previous day.
