Kathmandu Fintech, in partnership with Fintech Alliance Nepal, is set to host the “UnionPay Nepal Fintech Festival 2025 powered by Nepal Clearing House” on Thursday, May 8, in Kathmandu.
According to the organizers, the high-profile event has received backing from a number of international institutions, including the Global Fintech Alliance, Asia Fintech Alliance, Fintech Convergence Council (organizers of the Global Fintech Festival), International Digital Economies Association, Indian Financial Forum, and the PSP Association.
The festival will feature keynote addresses by globally recognized fintech and banking leaders, including Neal Cross (former Chief Innovation Officer, DBS Bank), Deepak Sharma (former Chief Digital Officer, Kotak Mahindra Bank), Sameer Singh Jaini (CEO, The Digital Fifth), and Rajesh Desai (CEO, Lyra Network).
Former Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari will attend as a special guest, while senior central bank officials and executives from major banks and financial institutions will also address the gathering.
The festival will attract a wide array of stakeholders, including regulators, bankers, fintech innovators, academics, and policy experts. Highlights of the event will include technology showcases, product demonstrations, and strategic partnership announcements between fintech companies.
Positioned as a landmark gathering in Nepal’s digital finance landscape, the festival is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing fintech innovation and shaping the region’s digital financial future, the organisers said in a statement.
