Bikash Adhikari registered one-shot victory over Tirtha Poudel in the Surya Nepal Golf Tour NPGA Qualifying School at the par-67 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Thursday. Bikash played seven-over 74 on the final round for a total score of 18-over 219, while Tirtha shot eight-over 75 for a total of 19-over 220.
Ashish Pariyar finished third at 222. Bhuwan Pudasaini was fourth at 223 and Gyanendra Bahadur Raut came fifth at 227. The top five players received pro cards for the Surya Nepal Golf Tour.
Adhikari took the turn at one-over 34 that included birdies on the fifth and sixth holes. He added six-over 40 on the back nine. Second-placed Poudel played four-over 37 on the front nine and shot another four-over 38 on the back nine. Likewise, Pariyar took the turn at four-over 37 and faltered to six-over 40 on the back nine. The top three also earned Rs 5,000, Rs 4,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
Sunil KC, Sujan Roka, Surya Manandhar, Shiva Ram Poudel and Bhimsen Chaulagain came in top 10. A total of 22 players, including NPGA President Rabindra Man Shrestha took part in the three-day tournament played over 54 holes.
