NEW APPOINTMENTS 

Jabbor Kayumov has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ncell Axiata Limited (Ncell). Jabbor succeeded Andy Chong, who has been transferred to serve as Axiata Group’s Chief Corporate Officer. Prior to joining Ncell, Jabbor worked as the CEO of Digicel Trinidad & Tobago followed by Digicel Jamaica until April 2023. In the Caribbean markets, he led a turnaround of business operations transitioning into becoming a digital operator. 

Shrawan Rawal has been appointed as the CEO and Kumar Bdr Khatri as Sr. DCEO of United Ajod Insurance after the merger between United and Ajod Insurance companies. Earlier, Rawal was Sr DCEO of IME Prudential Insurance Co. Ltd. and Khatri was CEO of Ajod Insurance. 

Toton Chakraborty has joined The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. Nepal as Chief Executive Officer replacing Vinod Ghate who has been transferred to Mumbai office of the company after his tenure was over in Nepal. 

Bishnu Prasad Upadhyaya has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. He earlier served as the CEO of Nepal Insurance Company where he completed 21 years working at different capacities. He also served as reinsurance expert at Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd. 

Sunil Kumar Raya has joined Janautthan Samudayic Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd as the Chief Executive Officer for a four-year term. 

Pawan Kumar Sharma has joined Devana Soft Pvt Ltd as a Chief Executive Officer. Earlier, he was with Virinchi College as Program Director. 

Bhusan Giri has joined ARKBO Technologies Pvt Ltd as a Co-founder. Earlier, he was with Nimble Infosys Pvt Ltd as the General Manager. 

Gunjan Khanal has joined Hipco Superbuild as Project Manager. Earlier, he was with Confederation of Nepalese industries as a Unit Coordinator. 

PROMOTED 

Neha Joshi of Dish Media Network Limited has been promoted to Chief Human Resource Officer from Head- Human Resources and Administration. 

Sharad Shahi of Prisma Advertising has been promoted to General Manager from Director- Client Servicing. 

Umesh Chauhan has been promoted to Editor-In-Chief of Kantipur daily. He replaces Sudhir Sharma who has left Kantipur Publications Pvt Ltd. 

MOVEMENTS IN PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANIES 

Kapil Dhakal has been appointed as the Chairman of Jyoti Capital Ltd. Dhakal has been serving as the Sr. Deputy CEO of Jyoti Bikas Bank Ltd. Also a chartered accountant, Dhakal has over 15 years of experience in Nepali banking industry. He previously worked with Deloitte India and ICICI Bank India. He has also worked with NIC Asia Bank Ltd as Assistant CEO. 

Hemraj Dhakal has been sworn in as the Chairman of the IGI Prudential Insurance Co Ltd. formed after the merger of IME General Insurance and Prudential General Insurance. Yugesh Bhakta Bade Shrestha is the CEO of the company while Bishal Agrawal, Ambika Prasad Poudel, Amit Agrawal, Rajendra Singh Agrawal and Krishna Prasad Sharma are the board members. 

Abhilasha Panta Sharma has been nominated as the Board Member of Himalayan Everest Insurance Ltd. from promoter shareholders group. She has been appointed to the post vacated due to the resignation of Bharati Pandey who was representing Laxmi Bank Ltd in the company's board. 

Laxmi Prasad Duwal has been nominated as the Board Member of Sadhana Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd from promoter shareholders group. Duwal is the Assistant General Manager of Kumari Bank Ltd. He replaces Kumari's representative Remesh Sapkota in the Class ‘D’ company’s board of directors. 

GOVERNMENT MOVEMENTS 

Arjun Prasad Pokharel has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. He replaces Toyam Raya who has been transferred to the Office of the Vice President. Pokharel was previously at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. 

Padma Prasad Pandey and Dr Surendra Aryal have been appointed in the position of Secretary of the House of Representatives and National Assembly, respectively. Pandey previously served as Deputy Auditor General, while Aryal was Joint Secretary at the Federal Parliament Secretariat. The posts were lying vacant after Rajendra Phuyal and Gopal Nath Yogi completed their five-year term. 

Abushan Timilsina has stepped down from Superintendent of Nepal Police (SP). Timilsina tendered his resignation after he was left out for promotion to Senior Superintendent (SSP). The government last month recommended 18 SPs for promotion to SSP. Timilsina was not recommended as he ranked 20th. 

Dr Rabindra Pandey has been appointed as the Board Member of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). Dr Pandey was Executive Director of NRB in the past. 

Dr Krishna Devkota has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of Policy and Planning Commission of the Gandaki Province Government. Devkota holds a doctorate degree in geology. He worked as Sr. Researcher with National Disaster Management Institute of South Korea. Devkota also worked as the Chief Consultant of the Kathmandu-Madhesh Fast Track Road Project. 

Nahakul K.C. has been appointed as the Vice Chairperson of Policy and Planning Commission of the Lumbini Province Government. Earlier, he was with Institute of International Development (IID) as the Chief Executive Officer.
