Prohibitory Order Extended in Kathmandu Valley by 10 More Days

July 16: Government authorities have extended the prohibitory order in Kathmandu valley until July 25.

A joint meeting of the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of the three districts in the valley on Thursday (July 15) decided to extend the prohibitory order by 10 more days.    
As per the decision, shops and businesses will now be allowed to open until 7 pm in the evening instead of 6 pm. Home delivery from restaurants and take away service have also been extended until 7 pm.    

However, the ban on cinema halls, party palaces, dance bars, stadiums, museums, zoo and mass gathering in public places will remain in force until further notice.

The authorities have agreed to allow both public and private vehicles to operate number of passengers as specified during the previous order. Similarly, the meeting decided to allow vehicles to enter the valley for essential purpose although no monitoring is being done at the entry points.    
All other previous provisions have been continued, according to CDO of Kathmandu district Kali Prasad Parajuli. He further said that examinations will be held as per the schedule but more than 25 persons will not be allowed in a single room considering the risk of Covid-19.

Religious gatherings and cultural festivals in public places still remain banned.
