After electric SUVs, the Nepali market is bracing for the entry of compact electric hatchbacks. The latest addition in this segment is the Wuling Bingo EV. Paramount Motors, the new authorised distributor of Wuling in Nepal, recently launched the latest mini hatchback in the domestic market. Binguo will be the second car from Wuling stable to enter the Nepali market after the Wuling Air EV. The Binguo EV is one of the most popular EVs in China, known for its compact form factor, appealing design and ease of manoeuvring in the city. The entry of the Binguo EV will intensify competition in the compact hatchback EV segment, which currently includes the Tata Tiago EV, BYD Dolphin, Citroen eC3, GWM ORA3, and MG4 EV.

The Wuling Binguo EV is powered by a 50 kW PMSM electric motor which generates a maximum power of 67 PS and a maximum torque of 150 Nm, with a top speed of 120 km/h. It derives power from a 31.9 kWh lithium ferro-phosphate battery, providing a claimed range of 333 km. The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in 5.5 hours with an AC charger and from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes with a DC charger, according to the company. The Binguo offers three different driving modes: Eco, Medium, and Sports.

The exterior design of the Binguo blends classic and modern elements. It features a classic look with its round and oval-shaped lighting setup, and a modern touch with LED lights on both the front and rear. The front sports bean-shaped headlights with an X-shaped LED setup, including LED DRLs and indicators. At the rear, the Wuling Binguo EV features bean-shaped tail lamps with X-shaped LED lights aligning with the front design. The rear is slightly bumped out, adding to the classic look, while the wide and curved rear glass completes the design.

The interior of the Wuling Binguo EV exudes class with its dual-tone colour theme of brown and white. The dashboard features glossy ceramic and soft synthetic leather, providing a premium feel that complements the overall look. The leather-wrapped steering wheel includes buttons for various functions such as cruise control and media control, along with wiper and indicator controls. Behind the steering wheel is a full-colour TFT-connected display. The digital instrument cluster measures 10.25 inches, and next to it, another 10.25-inch screen serves as the infotainment display, providing navigation, media and other features.

Climate control in the Wuling Binguo EV is managed by three simple knobs located below the infotainment display, each with a chrome finish that enhances the vehicle's premium feel. The centre console features a distinctive rotary gear selector and ample storage space, with a total of 15 compartments. Additionally, there is a USB port for charging devices. The seats in the Binguo EV are upholstered in perforated synthetic leather, offering both comfort and style. The driver’s seat has a six-way electric adjustment for personalised comfort. Safety features in the car include dual airbags in the front and a suite of protective measures such as Anti-Lock ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and ISOFIX.
