NHPC Limited of India has signed an agreement with the National Transmission Grid Company (NTGC) to use its transmission infrastructure to evacuate power generated by the West Seti Hydropower Project. The government set up NTGC for the construction of transmission lines in the country. The 750-megawatt West Seti Hydropower Project is being developed by the NHPC. NHPC had earlier announced plans to build a dedicated transmission line to evacuate power from West Seti. However, it has now signed an agreement to use NTGC's transmission line to transmit the electricity to India, paying a wheeling charge. Sandeep Mittal, head of NHPC Nepal, confirmed that NHPC will pay wheeling charges for using the transmission line.
