NEW APPOINTMENTS 

Dinesh Thakali has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank for a four-year term. He is a Chartered Accountant and was Deputy General Manager at Prabhu Bank for two years before working as Managing Director at Prabhu Capital for additional two years. Thakali also served as the CEO of Shangrila Development Bank. 

Prabin Raj Pokharel has been appointed as the CEO of Nepal Digital Payments Company Ltd. Earlier, Pokharel was CEO of F1 Soft International and Nepal Ltd. He has extensive banking expertise, having held senior and intermediate management positions in Global Bank, Nabil Bank, Bank of Kathmandu and Himalayan Bank. 

Chirayu Bhandari has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of newly set up and licensed Guardian Microlife Insurance Company Ltd. headquartered at Biratnagar. Bhandari, who is a former CEO of Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd, has also worked with Prime Life Company ltd. 

Suman Acharya has joined Lumbini Bikas Bank Limited as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Earlier, he was AGM/Chief Credit Business at Civil Bank Limited. 

Mohan Prasad Gautam has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Ltd. Gautam, who holds a Master's degree in engineering from Moscow University, has over 25 years of experience in the hydropower sector. 

Deepesh KC has joined Hotel Himalaya as Executive Manager - Food & Beverage. Earlier, he was the CEO of Indreni World. 

Saurav Bhattarai has been appointed as Senior Manager-Brand of Nepal Distilleries Pvt. Ltd. Earlier, he was with Himalaya Wellness Company as a Brand Manager. 

Jwana Maharjan has joined Norvic Hospital as Senior Manager, Human Resources. Earlier, she was with HAMS Hospital as Human Resource Manager. 

Rajesh Shrestha has joined Spark Group as Chief Executive Officer. Earlier, he was with ebeema online insurance portal at the same position. 

Rajesh Shrestha has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer of Crayons Corp. Earlier, he was with AayuLogic Pvt. Ltd as Business Manager. 

Akesh Jaiswal has joined CG Telecommunications Pvt Ltd as Head-Sales and Marketing. Earlier, he was with Smart Telecom as a Sales Manager. 

PROMOTED 

Rhishikesh (Rishi) Nepal of F1Soft has been promoted as Chief Partnership Officer from Director of Product & Business. 

Ganesh Prasad Awasthi of Nabil Bank has been promoted to Deputy General Manager from Assistant General Manager. 

ELECTED IN PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANIES 

Pradeep Lal Shrestha has been elected as the Chairperson of Salt Trading Corporation (STC). He had been serving as Director of STC for the past eight years. He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Morang Sugar Mills. 

Kiran Krishna Shrestha has been elected as the Director of Everest Bank Ltd. Shrestha was elected to the post after Arun Man Sherchan resigned from the Board. Shrestha is the Chairman and Team Leader of Nepalaya Pvt. Ltd. 

ELECTED IN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION 

The 48th annual general meeting of Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has unanimously elected a new executive committee under the presidentship of Binayak Shah, MD of Airport Hotel. The meeting also elected Prabin Bahadur Pandey to the post of first vice president and Dinesh Tuladhar as second vice president. Similarly, Sajan Shakya is elected as general secretary and Youb Raj Shrestha as treasurer, along with 25 executive members, including Shreejana Rana who is immediate past president. The executive committee members include-Biddhata Shrestha, Jaydip Shrestha, Sarik Lari, Binod Shankar Shrestha, Vishal Kumar, Rajendra Bhatta, Ram Kumar Puri, Thakur Pokhrel, Laxman Aryal, Rajan Shrestha, Suman Ghimire, Biplav Poudel and Gopal Rana. According to the association, Bharat Raj Parajuli, CP Shrestha, Rahul Shakya and Sudarshan Chapagain too are nominated as members. 

Sunil KC, the vice president of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been elected unanimously to the executive committee of the FNCCI. Bilateral chambers affiliated with the FNCCI unanimously selected him for the position. 

Shankar Prasad Pandey has been elected as the President of Federation of Export Entrepreneurs Nepal (FEEN). Chandi Prasad Aryal, Govinda Ghimire, Durga Bikram Thapa and Shanta Baskota have been elected as vice presidents, while Devananda Saraogi is the general secretary, Kiran Kumar Dangol is the treasurer, Rekha Aryal and Shiva Prasad Bhatta are secretaries, and Shailendra Guragain is the joint treasurer in the new executive committee. 

GOVERNMENT MOVEMENTS 

Prof Dr Arhan Sthapit has been appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Law at Nepal Open University. 

Kiran Pokharel has been appointed as the Press Adviser to President Ram Chandra Poudel. Pokharel, a former president of Nepal Press Union, has also served as a Commissioner in the National Information Commission. 

Govinda Acharya has been appointed as the Press Adviser to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Acharya, a former president of Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), also served as PM Dahal’s press adviser in his previous term. Likewise, Manahari Timilsena has been appointed as Media Expert and Surya Kiran Sharma as Press Coordinator. 

Gajendra Kumar Thakur has been appointed as the Director General of the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection. The post had been lying vacant for nearly one and half months. Thakur is a finance service cadre. 

 Ajaya Man Shrestha has been appointed as the Chairman of Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal. The post had been lying vacant after Surya Bahadur Bhattarai was removed from the post. Likewise, Laxmi Khanal of Kapilvastu has been appointed as a member of the Hospital Development Committee of the provincial hospital. 

Dr Bishwanath Poudel, Dr Poshraj Pandey and Dr Gunakar Bhatta have been appointed as experts in Ministry of Finance to work as advisers to Minister for Finance Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat who is in the rush to finalise the Government Budget for fiscal year 2023-24. While Dr Poudel and Dr Pandey are in honorary position, Dr Bhatta has been brought on deputation from Nepal Rastra Bank where he is serving as the Head of Banks and Financial Institutions Regulatory Department. 

Dr Ramesh Chandra Poudel, Prof Dr RP Bichha and Prabhu Budhathoki have been appointed as the Member of the National Planning Commission. Dr Poudel is associate professor in TU, while Prof Dr Bichha has been active in the health sector for a long time. 

Chhapiraj Pant has been appointed as the Chairman of Nepal Transit and Warehousing Company Ltd. Earlier, he was Chief Business Officer at Nepal SBI Bank. 

Milan Raj Gartaula has been appointed as the General Manager of Sajha Publication. 

Dr Sangya Malla has been promoted to SSP in Nepal Police who was till recently serving as the Chief of the MONUSCO police health and environment unit in Kinshasa, Congo.
