Garden Terrace Comes Up With New Menu
The Garden Terrace restaurant at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza has introduced a new a la carte menu. The new menu includes more than 100 varieties of appetizers, main courses, light meals and special desserts. “The new menu has meals prepared with new cooking techniques that accentuate new flavors from India, Nepal, Italy, Australia, Mexico, Japan, China and Thailand. The menu provides guests with more options of breakfast, lunch and dinner,” says a press release from the Hotel.
 
Some of the newly introduced appetizers are Mi Moriawase Bejitarian Sushi (assorted non-vegetarian Sushi), Crostini (an Italian canapés with assorted toppings) and Serai Peluru Ayam (Lemongrass Chicken Bullets with Galangal served with Kefir Lime and Coconut sauce) among others. 
 
Main courses from the global selection are Sweet Basil and Philadelphia Baby Chicken, Castricum Lamb Chop , Cannelloni Verdi di Carciofi to name a few. Sandwiches like Coney Island Hot Dog, Kalamata French Baguette Vegan Sandwich and Mediterranean Roasted Vegetable Wrap are included in the light meal section of the menu. To wrap up the meal, there are numerous sumptuous desserts to choose from. 
 
Oktoberfest 2014 at Radisson Hotel
Radisson Hotel Kathmandu celebrated Oktoberfest by hosting an event ‘Oktoberfest 2014’ at The Terrace Garden at its new wing on 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th October 2014.  During the four days of celebration, the hotel offered a German specialty buffet for Rs 1800 nett per person including a free flow of Carlsberg beer.
 
The lavish German buffet had numerous starters, soups, live barbeque, carving station and desserts to choose from. Some of the specialty dishes served were homemade sauerkraut, St Germain soup with Frankfurters, gammon with grain mustard, bratwurst and whitwurst, getreide meal laib (meat loaf), dark beer marinated barbeque chicken, Bavarian cream with plum compote and apple and rum custard cake among others.  
 
Radisson Hotel has been celebrating the fest for the past two years. “This year’s celebration had guests from various sectors to celebrate the festival of fun, food and beer”, says a statement from the hotel. Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival held annually in Bavaria, Germany running from late September to the first weekend in October. 
 
 
Qatar Airways Voted Best Business Class Airline 
Qatar Airways has been named ‘Best Business Class Airline’ for the second year in a row at the Business Traveller Awards 2014 held at The Hilton Hotel, London. The award follows major recognition in July at the Farnborough Air Show where Qatar Airways was named ‘Best Business Class Airline’ by Skytrax.
 
At the Business Traveller Awards 2014, Qatar Airways was also named as a finalist in several other categories like Best Airline, Best Long-Haul Airline, Best Economy Class, Best Middle Eastern Airline and Best Cabin Staff. The Business Traveller Awards are voted for by readers of the magazine with the results authenticated by an independent auditing company and are widely recognised as the airline industry’s benchmark for excellence. Readers base their voting on the strength of the airline’s customer service, its route network and services.

China Southern to fly to San Francisco
China Southern has announced it will fly from Guangzhou Baiyun International airport to San Francisco International airport via Wuhan Tianhe International airport three times a week starting from December 16.The route will be served by a 228-seat B787 aircraft consisting of three classes – four first class seats in 1-2-1 configuration; 24 business seats arranged in 2-2-2; and 200 economy seats in a 3-3-3 setup. 
 
Previously, passengers booking China Southern’s flight from Guangzhou to San Francisco had to fly to New York or Los Angeles, and then take a Delta Air Lines flight to reach the city. The new service allows passengers to stay in their seats without changing aircraft.
