Top 6 Finalists of Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero 2018 Announced

August 17: Glocal Pvt Ltd, a CSR and brand consultant company, has announced the shortlist of Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero 2018. According to the organsier, six finalists have been selected from a list of over 532 applications this year to honour the youths for the impacts they have created in the society.

Those shortlisted are Bikalpa Dhungana, 19, (inventor from Tanahu), Deepshikha Ghimire, 18, (writer from Makwanpur), Prashansha KC, 17, (social activist from Rukum), Saugat Tiwari, 19, (entrepreneur from Chitwan), Sudarshan Subedi, 19, (ecopreneur from Okhaldhunga), and Swornim Shrestha, 17, (social entrepreneur from Sindhupalchowk).

Glocal Teen Hero is a platform for Nepali teenagers to share their initiation, creativity, and enthusiasm which will then motivate them and more of the other teenagers in the nation to develop an entrepreneurial thinking, the organisers saind in a statement.

This is the fourth edition of the ‘first-ever’ program designed in the country to recognize dedicated, passionate, and innovative teenagers so as to encourage their initiatives, the statement further says.

Bipana Sharma, a 17-year-old child rights activist from Sunwal, Nawalparasi, and Santosh Lamichhane, a young scientist were felicitated with the first and second Glocal Teen Hero awards in the years 2015 and 2016 respectively. Similarly, social activist Sachin Dangi was declared the Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero in 2017.

The event will be held at Soaltee Crowne Plaza on September 1.
