NTB to promote Nepali tourism via different international media

October 31: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has said that it is signing agreements with BBC and Lonely Planet with an aim of promoting Nepali tourism in the international arena.

The government last year had signed deals with BBC, Reuters and Trip Advisor for promoting tourism.

According to NTB, it will pay a total of Rs 30.5 million each to both the organizations.

The board has already allocated budget for this purpose, and will soon sign deals with both the organizations. Last year, NTB had signed a $650,000 deal with BBC for six months, $250,000 with Trip Advisor for a year and $75,000 with Reuters for three months.

Last year, NTB had allocated a total of Rs 142.5 million to promote Nepali tourism industry and to advertise in the international arena. According to Deepak Raj Joshi, chief executive officer (CEO) of NTB, this step will help Nepali tourism industry to grow, as the international media will advertise the possibilities of Nepali tourism.
