NEA Adds 225,000 New Customers in Current Fiscal Year

KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has added 225,000 new electricity customers in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.

According to the Economic Survey 2023/24, the number of electricity customers reached 5.87 million by Faglun (mid-March 2024), up from 5.64 million in mid-July 2023.

As of mid-March 2024, a total of 2,975 MW of electricity has been connected to the national grid. The Economic Survey reports that this includes 660 MW from projects operated by the NEA, 492 MW from subsidiary projects of the NEA, and 1,822 MW from projects developed by the private sector.
