KNP Japan Pvt. Limited to Establish PNC Ward at Narayani Hospital

December 7: In a trilateral agreement, KNP Japan Private Limited, a multinational paint manufacturer, is set to establish a Post Natal Care (PNC) ward at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj.

The hospital's Medical Superintendent, Dr. Chittaranjan Sah, said that KNP Japan Private Limited had agreed to establish post-natal care ward at the hospital with the Birgunj Metropolis’ initiative.

Arvind Lal Karn, the executive officer for the metropolis, Dr. Sah representing the hospital, and Manoj Mishra, the Country Head of KNP, signed the agreement.

Mayor Rajesh Man Singh praised the company's contribution and urged further collaboration, highlighting KNP's support for community school improvements in Birgunj. He emphasized the metropolis’ prioritization on health and education.

Dr. Sah expressed confidence that the proposed PNC ward would be helpful in reducing maternal mortality. With the establishment of this ward, mothers discharged after childbirth can now undergo postnatal care within the hospital premises for at least one day, allowing for close monitoring.

Ashok Kumar Baidya, the director of KNP, stated that the company had agreed to establish unit as part of its corporate social responsibility. The post-natal unit is estimated to cost Rs 4 million and will be completed within one and a half months.
