DoTM Reduces Transportation Fare

June 26: The government has reduced the inter-state public transportation fare with the decline in fuel prices. The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) slashed the fares of passenger and carge vehicles through automated pricing mechanism after Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) lowered the prices of petrol and diesel on Saturday.
The price of diesel has been reduced by Rs 29 per litre and that of petrol by Rs 20 per litre.
The DoTM informed that it slashed the fare of passenger vehicles by 5.41 percent. As per the new transport fare fixed by the department, the transportation fare of cargo vehicles operating in the hill areas has been reduced by 6.97 percent and that of the freight carriers operating in the Terai by 7.68 percent.
According to the existing law, the transportation fare is automatically adjusted if the fuel price rises or falls more than five percent.
