December 2: NMB Bank has succeeded to become the best bank in Asia. It has been awarded with the "The Bank of the Year Asia 2021" award by London-based The Banker magazine.

NMB Bank has been adjudged the best bank in Asia beating out stiff competition from banks based in Asian giants such as China, India, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan.    
The reportedly bank won this award because of its focus on sustainable banking, commitment towards digital transformation and high corporate governance standards.    
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday handed over the award jointly to NMB Chairperson Pawan Golyan, chief executive officer Sunil KC and the Board of Directors of the bank amid a programme organised at the official residence of the PM.    
On the occasion, PM Sher Deuba congratulated all those associated with the bank for creating a history, adding that the bank has enhanced the prestige of the entire banking industry of Nepal by being honoured with the coveted award. -- RSS
