Bhumi Restaurant Launches Newari Bhoj

April 7: Bhumi Restaurant in Lazimpat has launched a traditional Newari cuisine promotion event, Newari Bhoj, to serve its customers with the authentic taste of the Newar community. The restaurant launched the event aiming to promote and preserve the Newari culture.
Bhumi Restaurant launched the event on March 14 and has been serving its customers with special Newai cuisine regularly.
Gyan Bahadur Gurung, general manager of the restaurant, informed that the event is an initiation to promote authentic Newari cuisine. "We aim to preserve and promote the Newari heritage as people are opting for modern lifestyle and are slowly forgetting our traditional dishes," he informed.
A minimum of ten customers are required to serve the Newari Bhoj dishes.
“Since the Newari dishes are large in number, requiring hours to prepare, and people these days are getting busier and don't want to spend much time cooking these dishes. So, the essence of our tradition is slowly fading away. We introduced this promotional event to preserve them,” shared Gurung.
The restaurant has marked a price of Rs 1700 per individual for the Newari Bhoj.  The cost is variable depending on the dishes the customer wants, Gurung added.
Bhumi Restaurant, with its two outlets in Lazimpat and Jhamsikhel, is regularly serving its customers with authentic Nepali, Newari, and Indian cuisines since 2007.
