November 27: The Supreme Court has refused to intervene in the 54th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) as demanded by a petitioner.

Shiva Shankar Sah, president of Province-2 chapter of FNCCI, had initially filed a complaint with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu seeking annulment of the AGM as well as election arguing that the meeting was being held against the established norms and statute of the organisation. He later filed the writ petition at the apex court stating that the DAO did not respond to his complaint.

The Supreme Court had called for a hearing on the petition on Thursday (November 26), which coincided with the inauguration of the AGM.

In the initial hearing, a single bench of Justice Purushottam Bhandari refused to issue an interim order to halt the AGM and instead sought clarification from the defendant.
