May 3: Sunrise Bank has started branchless banking service at Nala of Banepa Municipality-10, Kavre. The service was inaugurated by Nepal Rastra Bank’s Deputy Governor Shiva Raj Shrestha in the presence of the municipality’s Mayor Shyam Sundar Shrestha, the bank’s CEO Ratna Raj Bajracharya and other members of the bank.

Bhim Narayan Shrestha, branch manager of the bank’s Bhaktapur branch, handed over a point of sales machine to the agent/representative of the branchless banking service. According to the bank, the machine enables the customers to make transaction through debit/credit cards from those places where there are no branch offices.
