The “NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025,” which concluded on Monday, drew more than 100,000 visitors, according to the organizer, Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA). The six-day event featured the participation of more than 50 automobile brands, with 35 new models unveiled during the expo. Formed after separating from the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal (NADA), NAIMA organized the mobility expo for the first time this year.

According to NAIMA, 15,000 people visited the expo on the first day, followed by 13,500 on the second day, 19,500 on the third, 21,500 on the fourth, 22,000 on the fifth, and 7,800 on the sixth day. At the closing ceremony, NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said the expo had exceeded expectations. “The past six days have been truly phenomenal. I am extremely excited to stand here at the closing ceremony of NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025. You have truly made this the largest auto expo in Nepal,” she said.

NAIMA Executive Director Rajkumar Dulal said the association had demonstrated its commitment to the overall development of the sector by organizing continuous learning sessions for five days during the expo. The sessions, held at Nepal Police Club, were conducted with the participation of experts from Nepal and India and were open to the public free of charge.

The organizers did not disclose the total number of vehicles booked during the event. However, a representative from Cimex Inc., the official distributor of BYD in Nepal, said that among the BYD vehicles displayed at the expo, the Atto 1 had the highest number of bookings. “Of all BYD bookings, 40 percent were for the Atto 1,” the representative said after the closing ceremony. “We received bookings for more than 800 BYD vehicles during the expo.”

Passenger car brands featured at the event included Toyota, MG, BYD, Citroën, Forthing, Great Wall Motors, Henrey Volts, Hyundai, Kia, Leapmotor, LS Auto, Mahindra, Maxus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Omoda/Jaecoo, Peugeot, Proton, Renault, Volkswagen, and Zeekr. To attract customers, dealers announced discounts of up to Rs 2 million. Most stalls showcased Chinese electric vehicles, which have seen a sharp rise in imports to Nepal in recent years.

According to NAIMA, the expo was attended by government and non-government employees, local representatives, prominent figures from the business community, media professionals, businesspeople, senior members of the automobile sector, diplomatic officials, and the general public.
