Conference On South Asian Trade

The one day conference of the South Asian young entrepreneurs was held on November 12. On the event, chairman of FNCCI, Kush Kumar Joshi said that regional trade development is required for the economic development in South-Asia. He expressed dissatisfaction at the fact that the intra-regional trade of SAARC countries increased 2 per cent only in past 3 decades. He added, “The entrepreneurs of SAARC regions are more capable than those of the other regions but they are not able to work professionally due to political instability”.

It was supported by Friedrich Naumann Stiftung of Germany. The conference was also attended by Pradeep Kumar Shrestha, Vice President of SAARC CCI; Iqbal Tabish, General Secretary of SAARC CCI; and Sharukh Mallik, President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (SYEF).
