Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said the government will implement the report submitted by the commission formed to probe the incidents of September 8 and 9.

Upon receiving the report from the commission on Sunday, Prime Minister Karki said she and the Home Minister would study the document before presenting it to the Council of Ministers.

“The government will review the report and move forward with its implementation,” she said, adding that the government would also consider making the report public.

“We will discuss making the report public. If we cannot release the entire document immediately after reviewing its details, we will at least make its conclusions public,” the prime minister said.

Karki also expressed confidence that the report reflects the actual situation and facts related to the incidents. She appreciated the commission chairman and members for their meticulous work.

On the occasion, Commission Chairman Gauri Bahadur Karki said the commission prepared the report honestly and presented its findings without prejudice.

“We included recommendations to help prevent such incidents in the future,” he said.

Karki attributed the incident to mismanagement and institutional weaknesses. “Regulatory bodies have become distorted, and sluggishness exists across institutions—from the judiciary to the executive,” he said. “The growing tendency among political parties to share power even in constitutional appointments has increased public anger. If the report is implemented, the face of the country could change.”

Commission member Bigyan Raj Sharma said the report provides a basis for further investigation by the authorities responsible for taking action.

Another member, Bishweshwar Bhandari, said the country’s situation could change significantly if authorities implement the recommendations related to good governance outlined in the report. -- RSS
