The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has issued a passenger advisory stating that international flights “may be subject to delay, rescheduling or cancellation” in view of recent airspace restrictions over the Middle East.

It urged passengers to verify the latest flight status directly with their respective airlines before travelling to the airport.

TIA said it was coordinating closely with airlines and relevant authorities to ensure smooth passenger handling and minimise inconvenience.

Himalaya Airlines has already cancelled all of its Middle East-bound flights after several Gulf countries imposed airspace restrictions amid escalating hostilities between the United States, Israel and Iran.

The disruptions come after joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran and subsequent retaliatory attacks by Iran intensified tensions across the region, prompting temporary airspace closures and widespread disruption to commercial aviation.

The airport has also provided contact details for passengers seeking updated information on flight schedules.
