The Soaltee Westend Resort has begun operations near the Manakamana Temple in Gorkha, with a soft launch held on Wednesday.
Located around 500 metres from the temple premises, the resort is being managed by The Soaltee Hotel as part of its expansion under the “Soaltee Westend Resort” brand. Investors said the project was built with an investment of over Rs 1 billion.
General Manager Bishwadev Dhungel said the resort will soon come into full-fledged operation. The property features 51 luxury rooms, including suites.
As part of the soft launch, the resort has introduced a promotional room rate of Rs 16,000 per night. The standard rate will be Rs 20,000 per night after formal operations begin, Dhungel said.
Beyond accommodation, the resort plans to introduce adventure tourism activities in its second phase, including ziplining and all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rides. It has also started offering guided village tours.
Under the initiative, guests are taken to Betini Community Homestay in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-2 of Gorkha. The village has around 100 households, many of which operate homestays.
“Every guest staying at the resort will be taken to Betini Homestay. This will also help promote the local homestay business,” Dhungel said.
The resort is targeting religious pilgrims, leisure travellers, corporate guests and families seeking spiritual experiences combined with modern comfort. Facilities include a banquet hall, meeting rooms, spa, fitness centre, open yoga deck, swimming pool and children’s play area.
The Soaltee brand currently manages hotels and resorts in Bhairahawa, Pokhara, Birgunj, Chitwan, Manakamana, Itahari and Nagarkot. The brand has also expanded its presence to Germany.
