At least 12 people were killed in a bus accident near Manthali, the district headquarters of Ramechhap, on Tuesday, February 10.
Eight others, including the driver, were injured, according to Dr Keshav Singh Dhami, Medical Superintendent at Manthali Hospital.
Search efforts for the remaining passengers were ongoing at the time of reporting, the state-owned RSS news agency said.
The bus, operated by Arniko Yatayat and travelling from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga, veered off the road and fell approximately 100 metres into the Tamakoshi River at Masantar in Manthali Municipality–6.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhola Bhatt said the injured were being treated at Shubha Jeevan Hospital in Khurkot, Manthali Hospital, and Tamakoshi Hospital. The driver has been taken into police custody, he added.
