Gold and Silver Prices Surge Again

The prices of gold and silver in the domestic market of Nepal have gone up again on Wednesday.    

Compared to Tuesday, the prices of both metals have risen with gold increasing by Rs 14,400 per tola (11.66 grammes) and silver by Rs 265 per tola.     

With this, the price of hallmark gold has been determined at Rs 304,700 per tola and the price of the same quantity of silver is set at Rs 5,600, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.     

Gold was traded at Rs 290,300 per tola and silver at Rs 5,335 on Tuesday.     

The price of gold had reached an all-time high on January 29, when it was traded at Rs 339,300 per tola before dropping below Rs 300, 000 mark in subsequent days.

As per the international media, one ounce (31.1035 grammes) of gold is being traded at USD 5,058 and the same quantity of silver at USD 88 in the international market on Wednesday. -- with inputs from RSS
