Following widespread snowfall and rainfall on Wednesday, weather conditions are gradually improving across much of the country as the westerly disturbance weakens and shifts eastward, though mist and fog are expected to affect many parts of the Tarai on Thursday.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, partly cloudy conditions will prevail in the hill and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while the weather will remain mainly fair in the rest of the country.
The Division’s 8:00 am bulletin said there is still a chance of light snowfall and rainfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
Meteorologists said the westerly disturbance that entered Nepal from the west on Tuesday—triggering widespread snowfall and rainfall on Wednesday—is now moving eastward and weakening, resulting in reduced weather activity.
Mist is likely at a few places in the Tarai on Thursday night, while partly cloudy conditions are expected in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki. The remaining parts of the country are forecast to experience mainly fair weather. – With inputs from RSS
