A Buddha Air aircraft skidded off the runway while landing at Bhadrapur Airport in Jhapa district on Friday night, January 2.

Airport authorities said all 51 passengers and crew members on board the aircraft were safely evacuated. The aircraft, with call sign 9N-AMF, was operating on the Kathmandu–Bhadrapur route.

Video shared on Facebook by a user named Bandhu Karki shows security personnel and others checking inside and around the damaged aircraft to ensure no passenger was left behind.

“Thank god, nothing happened,” a person can be heard saying in the video. Others are heard urging people to help passengers move through the area safely. New Business Age has not independently verified the video.
