The Special Court has ordered former minister Rajkumar Gupta to be remanded in custody for investigation in connection with a bribery case.
Gupta faces charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 7.8 million, and the court on Wednesday ordered his detention under the Corruption Prevention Act. The order also allows for the confiscation of the bribe amount and the imposition of fines in accordance with the law.
A joint bench of Special Court judges Sudarshan Dev Bhatt, Dilli Ratna Shrestha and Bidur Koirala issued the order. -- RSS
