The “National Ghar Nirman Fest 2082”, underway at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, continued to attract a steady crowd on its second day on Sunday, December 28.

Organised to promote housing, residential planning and infrastructure development, the four-day exhibition brings builders, suppliers, architects, engineers and prospective homeowners under one roof. The fest will run through Tuesday, December 30.

Exhibitors are showcasing construction materials, modern building technologies, house designs, engineering services, and housing loan products offered by banks and financial institutions. Organisers say the event is designed to encourage informed, safe and affordable home construction through direct interaction between experts and consumers.

More than 40,000 visitors are expected to attend the fest, with organisers projecting transactions exceeding Rs 2 billion.

Key attractions include a brick claimed to be the world’s largest, a dome-shaped house, and a model house priced at Rs 600,000. Three-dimensional models prepared by students from 40 engineering colleges are also on display, highlighting innovation in design and construction.
