NEPSE Falls for Fourth Consecutive Day

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 13.52 points, or 0.51%, on Wednesday, December 3, closing at 2,631.17 points. This marks the fourth consecutive day of losses, following declines of 0.99% on Sunday, 0.16% on Monday, and 0.02% on Tuesday.

A total of 10,873,372 shares were traded across 67,485 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs. 5.23 billion, higher than Tuesday’s turnover of Rs. 4.48 billion, when 10,810,106 shares were exchanged in 56,009 transactions.

All key sub-indices ended lower, with the Sensitive Index falling 0.66%, the Float Index easing 0.55%, and the Sensitive Float Index dropping 0.68%.

Among individual stocks, 74 recorded gains, 177 posted losses, and 7 remained unchanged.

 Sagar Distillery Limited (SAGAR), Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBBL), and Jhapa Energy Limited (JHAPA) hit their upper circuit limits, emerging as the day’s top gainers. Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SWASTIK) and Shreenagar Agritech Industries Limited (SAIL) also surged by 9.99% each.

On the losing side, Samling Power Company Limited (SPC) recorded the steepest decline, with its share price falling 2.85%.

In terms of transaction value, Bandipur Cablecar and Tourism Limited (BANDIPUR) led the market with a turnover of Rs. 184.97 million, followed by Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) and Ngadi Group Power Ltd. (NGPL).

Among 13 sectoral indices, four ended in the red. Finance, Hotel & Tourism, Manufacturing & Processing, and Mutual Fund indices rose by 1.59%, 0.54%, 0.24%, and 0.44%, respectively. The Life Insurance sector experienced the steepest loss, declining 1.18%.

Total market capitalization slipped to Rs. 4,417.80 billion from Rs. 4,440.51 billion on Tuesday.
