The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) extended its rally on Tuesday, November 25. The benchmark index rose 0.20 percent, adding 5.32 points to close at 2,655.99. It had climbed 1.55 percent on Sunday and 1.94 percent on Monday.
Turnover, however, fell to Rs 5.82 billion, compared to Monday’s Rs 7.03 billion. Investors traded 11.97 million shares in 102,642 transactions. On Monday 14.20 million shares were exchanged in 79,714 transactions.
All major sub-indices advanced. The Sensitive Index gained 0.30 percent. The Float Index rose 0.25 percent. The Sensitive Float Index added 0.32 percent.
Market breadth remained mixed. A total of 125 securities declined. While 122 gained, 10 closed unchanged.
Jhapa Energy Ltd (JHAPA) hit the upper circuit to lead the gainers. Sagar Distillery Limited (SAGAR) and Shreenagar Agritech Industries Limited (SAIL) followed with gains of 9.99 percent and 9.98 percent, respectively.
Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd (JOSHI) fell 4.96 percent and was the day’s biggest loser.
Bandipur Cablecar and Tourism Limited (BANDIPUR) topped the turnover list with Rs 269.99 million. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) and Ngadi Group Power Ltd (NGPL) were next.
Of the 13 sectoral indices, four closed lower. The Trading Index slipped 1.33 percent. The Mutual Fund, Life Insurance and Development Bank indices fell 0.34 percent, 0.30 percent and 0.24 percent, respectively. Hotels and Tourism posted the strongest sectoral gain at 1.41 percent. Manufacturing and Processing rose 1.30 percent. Other indices made gains of less than 1 percent.
Total market capitalisation rose to Rs 4,459.46 billion, up from Rs 4,450.52 billion the previous day.
