NEPSE Increases by 15.70 Points

Sagar Distillery and Mabilung Energy Hit Upper Circuit Limit

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) extended its upward momentum on Tuesday, November 18, gaining 15.70 points, or 0.61 percent, to close at 2,566.07.

The benchmark has now advanced for two consecutive sessions. It had risen 0.38 percent on Monday after slipping 0.20 percent on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

Market activity strengthened alongside the index. Daily turnover reached Rs 4.10 billion, with more than 9.25 million shares traded across 55,277 transactions. In the previous session, NEPSE saw over 8.89 million shares worth Rs 3.94 billion change hands through 61,635 transactions.

All three key sub-indices posted gains. The Sensitive Index rose 0.60 percent, the Float Index added 0.66 percent, and the Sensitive Float Index climbed 0.64 percent.

Sagar Distillery Limited (SAGAR) and Mabilung Energy Limited (MABEL) hit the upper circuit limit, emerging as the day’s top performers. Everest Bank Limited Debenture 2091 (EBLD91) recorded the sharpest loss, falling 3.54 percent.

Sahas Urja Limited (SAHAS) led the turnover chart at Rs 229.16 million. Barun Hydropower Co. Ltd. (BARUN) and Mountain Energy Nepal Limited (MEN) followed with turnovers of Rs 156.86 million and Rs 133.17 million, respectively.

All sectoral indices closed in positive territory. Hotels and Tourism posted the strongest gain at 1.28 percent, trailed by Development Banks at 1.25 percent and Investment at 1.19 percent. No other sector rose by more than 1 percent.

Total market capitalization increased to Rs 4,308.49 billion, up from Rs 4,282.11 billion in the previous session.
