NEPSE Slips 1.05% Below 2,600

Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices all close lower

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell 1.05 percent, or 27.64 points, to close at 2,595.24 on Tuesday, November 4, following a 0.31 percent drop the previous day that ended a two-day winning streak.

Trading activity also slowed on the third trading day of the week, with over 10.34 million shares changing hands across 46,875 transactions, down from 12.18 million shares in 54,892 transactions in the previous session. Daily turnover dropped to Rs 5.15 billion from Rs 6.05 billion on Monday and Rs 9.20 billion on Sunday.

All three major sub-indices — Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float — closed in the red, down 0.86 percent, 1.06 percent, and 0.84 percent, respectively.

Among traded companies, 213 declined, 34 advanced, and 3 remained unchanged.

Mabilung Energy Limited (MABEL) and First Micro Finance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (FMDBL) were the top gainers, rising 9.98 percent and 9.20 percent, respectively, while Muktinath Krishi Company Limited (MKCL) hit a negative circuit to become the day’s biggest loser.

In terms of turnover, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led the market with shares worth Rs 270.10 million traded, followed by Radhi Bidyut Company Limited (RADHI) at Rs 224.67 million and Union Hydropower Limited (UNHPL) at Rs 187.69 million.

All 13 sectoral indices ended lower. The Finance Index recorded the steepest drop at 2.21 percent, followed by the Others Index (1.81 percent) and Development Bank Index (1.47 percent). The Trading Index saw the smallest decline at 0.11 percent.

Overall market capitalization fell to Rs 4,338.56 billion from Rs 4,384.78 billion on Monday and Rs 4,398.57 billion on Sunday.
