Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Sunday, November 2, instructed the Board of Directors and senior officials of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) to end irregularities and ensure reforms within the national flag carrier.
At a meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Karki called on the NAC leadership to implement long-pending expert recommendations for institutional reform.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Karki emphasised the need for good governance, urging officials to address financial irregularities and eliminate anomalies in operations, including regular aircraft maintenance and service management.
During the meeting, Bikram Rai, Acting Chairperson of the NAC Board of Directors, pledged to push ahead with reforms and deliver tangible results.
Similarly, Acting General Manager Janakraj Kalakheti reported that the Corporation is currently facing a deficit of more than Rs 17 billion.
Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal and Chief Secretary Eaknarayan Aryal were also present at the discussion.
