The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose 1.18 percent, or 30.75 points, on Sunday, November 2, to close at 2,631.14, extending gains from the previous trading day.
The benchmark had climbed 1.33 percent last Thursday, closing above the 2,600-point mark for the first time since October 7, 2025.
Sunday’s trading saw 205 companies advance, 42 decline while three remain unchanged.
Key sub-indices also ended higher: the Sensitive Index gained 0.97 percent, the Float Index 1.23 percent, and the Sensitive Float Index 0.80 percent.
More than 29.7 million shares changed hands across 68,112 transactions, with daily turnover surging to Rs 9.20 billion — up from Rs 7.51 billion on Thursday.
Five companies — Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (SLBSL), Gurkhas Finance Ltd. (GUFL), Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Ltd. (PMHPL), People's Power Ltd. (PPL), and Terhathum Power Company Ltd. (TPC) — hit their upper circuit limits.
Khanikhola Hydropower Co. Ltd. (KKHC) was the day’s top loser, dropping 4.76 percent to Rs 260 per share.
In terms of turnover, Himalayan Bank Ltd. Promoter (HBLPO) led with transactions worth over Rs 1.66 billion, followed by Union Hydropower Ltd. (UNHPL) at Rs 343.05 million and Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) at Rs 254.82 million.
Of the 13 sectoral indices, 12 closed higher. The Trading Index was the only decliner, down 1.10 percent. The Finance Index led the rally with a 5.18 percent rise, followed by the Life Insurance Index, up 4.35 percent.
Overall market capitalisation rose to Rs 4,398.57 billion from Rs 4,347.16 billion the previous trading day.
