Vehicular movement along the BP Highway resumed Sunday morning, November 2, after being suspended for three days due to rain-induced landslides.
Traffic had been halted along the Chaukidanda–Nepalthok stretch in Kavrepalanchowk as landslides blocked several sections of the road.
“The road has reopened after clearing landslide debris and constructing a temporary diversion,” said Suman Yogesh, Senior Divisional Engineer at the Division Road Office, Bhaktapur. A 50-metre diversion was constructed at Roshi Rural Municipality-8 to facilitate smooth traffic flow.
Rain-induced disasters frequently disrupt traffic along the highway.
