The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has intensified its campaign to clear public land of illegal constructions.

On Sunday morning, November 2, excavators deployed by the metropolis demolished several permanent and makeshift structures built in and around the Ram Temple premises in Thapathali. The operation is part of KMC’s ongoing effort to reclaim encroached public spaces.

City officials said preparations are also underway to remove the nearby Traffic Police Unit, which they say was built on encroached land. However, as of Sunday morning, police personnel remained stationed at the site.
